Well, it had to happen sometime. I am officially sick. I woke up last night freezing cold, which is a tell-tale sign that I have a fever. Happy spring break to me? Although I can’t even say that this morning considering the half-foot of snow sitting on my lawn…
And now on to WIAW. It’s my third week participating, and let’s just say I failed miserably at adding greens to my meals yesterday (but I don’t regret it at all). Thanks to Jenn for hosting the weekly shindig!
Tuesday was kind of an oddball eating day because I was hardly home. I had an interview in the AM, so I was up even earlier than usual. I started my day with a bowl of oatmeal because I wanted to keep my day as normal as possible so that I would stay calm!
That’s a recycled picture, but I swear yesterday’s bowl of oats looked exactly the same :)
On the way to the interview, I stopped for gas. I bought a VitaCoco because I already knew I wasn’t feeling 100%. I was trying to be preventative and get some electrolytes. I guess that didn’t exactly work.
After my interview, I met up with my grandma for lunch. She suggested we stop at Sal’s City Deli, and I quickly agreed. I was so hungry! My lunch went unpictured, but I ordered the Grilled Vegetable Wrap. The wrap consisted of marinated onion, zucchini, yellow squash, and peppers, as well as tomatoes and shredded iceberg lettuce. It was served on a sun-dried tomato wrap with hummus spread all over the inside. It was tangy and savory, and although I would have preferred a little less marinade, I still really enjoyed it.
Later, I went shopping with my bestie, Emily. Sadly, we had zero luck in the buying category (seriously no cute dresses anywhere) but found 100% success in the dinner department. We ate dinner at Carino’s, which is a chain Italian grill restaurant. We had a tradition in high school of going there once monthly (we thought we were so cool driving there ourselves), and it was fun to go back. I had the Skilletini (also unpictured, sorry!). It was a mix of spaghetti noodles, sautéed chicken, onion, and green pepper in a spicy red sauce. Yum!
After dinner, we stopped at a nearby froyo joint, Sincerely Yogurt. In my cup went original froyo (I love the tartness!), strawberries, and chocolate chips. I also tried a little pistachio yogurt.
And here’s Em! Froyo face.
Love that girl.
We then came back to my house, waited for Pretty Little Liars to come on, and snacked on some pretzels as we watched it.
Sure, there was a serious lack of greens yesterday, but I got to spend time with family and friends. Sometimes, life happens, and I wouldn’t change that for the world.
And now, rest. I want to get better!
Question of the Day:
Have you ever tried pistachio froyo? I loved it! Definitely going to make that my base flavor next time.
